biography

LANA PHOTON

Dancer, choreographer, producer, started her career as a ballet dancer at the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Latvia in Riga. There she performed in ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Nutcracker, Chopeniana, and Spartacus. Her teachers have included internationally recognized dance artists: Laura Lubchenko, Nina Belikova, Tamara Vitina, and Arvid Ozolinsh.

Her interest in dance had started in the early childhood, which resulted in her first non-stop 45 min solo improvisation concert at the age of 5 at an open public park stage. Then, after her acceptance at the Latvian National Dance Academy, only after a few years of training she became the youngest ballerina who landed an adult ballet role at the age of 13.

However, upon her arrival to the United States Lana’s fascination with American multiculturalism and exposure to multiplicity of dance styles had opened for her new avenues for creativity and helped her discover her new choreographic vision. Lana took every opportunity to learn from dance traditions and cultural aesthetics from around the world. She perfected and enriched her dance techniques and choreographic language. As a result, Lana created her own  dance style and earned herself a reputation as an “eclectic dancer and choreographer.”

In the United States, Lana continued her career as a performer and choreographer. She produced and performed her choreographic works throughout the East Coast of North America, many of which she donated to public needs such as city functions, festivals, fundraising events, corporate and private events, including the production of her charity concert for Red Cross in Canada. Her performances have been broadcast on television on several occasions in the U. S. and Latvia.

She was also mentored and worked with American celebrities such as Nathalie Krassovska, Christopher Fleming, and Hollywood’s TV Host star Paul Ryan. She and Paul Ryan co-produced TV series.

In addition to her career in Performing Arts, Lana's search for solutions to achieve and maintain physical wellness, peak performance, and athletic career longevity, lead her to expand professional skills and become a specialist and educator in the areas of natural health, fitness, and wellness. As a result, she developed series of her self-care and whole body restorative programs, including her bestselling exercise systems RestoraMove®,  SvetDance®, and Photon Yoga Dance™. Currently, she is working on two of her books related to natural health and New Age Thought, and a new self-help system.

Today, Lana offers her production, performance and consulting services to help organizations and individuals achieve their creative goals, while continuing to produce and perform her original events and shows for public entertainment and wellness.
